Film Review #33

I watched Trapped, a short film directed two friends of mine. The film is a social commentary on the treatment of citizens in Egypt during its civil war. The film depicts a man witnessing his son's imprisonment on the news for being accused of terrorism. The man reaches to the television to figuratively be with his son. The man is then sucked into the television and becomes imprisoned with his son. The commentary is on the way all citizens speaking against the war as well as war sympathizers were imprisoned and accused of terrorism. Trapped is a very metaphorical film and was executed pretty well. I really liked the concept and I'm glad the filmmakers are making this statement.
